The Northern Plains Conference of the United Church of Christ is multiracial, multicultural, multilingual, and multinational. Three nations: USA and Canada, and the MHA (Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara) Nation are served by the Conference. There are 30 local churches located in North Dakota, East Grand Forks, MN, and Winnipeg, MB. We are rural and urban, Prairie and Badlands, tradespeople and professionals, lay ministers and preachers. We are theologically diverse and of Native American, Euro-American and Filipino heritage. Our vision is:

The Northern Plains Conference serves as a catalyst for God’s Love in Action

We gather several times each year for the Annual Meeting and for learning and fellowship. Our School of Ministry will soon be relaunched for the 21st century to provide training and support for Lay people seeking to minister among us. The Northern Plains Conference has a long history of training Lay Ministers to serve our churches, and we are excited to renew and deepen that commitment, fostering a Culture of Call among all our people. We have a growing focus on Disaster preparedness and Wellness for our people and our communities.
